We had an amazing stay at a beautiful castle surrounded by stunning grounds. The lodge itself was modern and luxurious, providing us with all the comforts of home. The beds were incredibly comfortable, ensuring we had a good night's sleep. We also enjoyed the privacy of the secluded area, along with the private garden where we could watch the wildlife. The location was perfect for exploring the wonderful Galloway area. Machermore Castle and the lodge exceeded our expectations and provided us with a peaceful and enjoyable break.

We had a wonderful time staying at a beautiful building in stunning grounds. The location was superb, and our family enjoyed the big garden that came with the castle. The house was clean, and the rooms were a good size with comfortable beds. We appreciated the excellent supply of hot water and good heating. It was the perfect place for our large family gathering, with plenty of space in the ballroom for all 38 of us. The modern lodges were also lovely and provided lots of space for our party. The castle and lodges were a great base for exploring the Galloway forest and coast. it was a fantastic experience for our family and friends.

The location of this castle is fantastic, with a beautiful and peaceful setting. The big garden is perfect for children to enjoy. The rooms are good-sized and the beds are extremely comfortable. The hot water supply is excellent and the heating keeps the house warm. The house is clean and provides a great space for families to get together.

Some areas of the interior are dated, which could bother some guests.

Despite a few minor drawbacks, such as the need for updating in the castle kitchen and some smaller details like mattress firmness and towel size, our overall experience was fantastic. I would highly recommend Machermore Castle for a memorable and enjoyable getaway. I am more than happy to recommend this hotel to others.

Loved the garden with the barbecue, made me feel like a master griller. Safety features were top-notch, made me feel like I was in a spy movie. Private parking was a real treat, saved me the hassle of competing for spots.

My oh my, the nearest airport just wouldn't do, I mean who wants to be near Glasgow Prestwick Airport? Ugh.

Although the lodge was comfortable, we did notice a few minor issues such as loose handles on the kitchen doors and windows. Additionally, the living room in the west cabin had very little furniture, which could be improved.

While the interior of the accommodation was clean, there were some dated areas that could be improved. The absence of blinds or frosted glass on the front door windows was a strange design choice, compromising privacy in certain rooms.
